It is a legal requirement that gas and electrical work
must only be carried out by a person registered with a
regulatory body such as CORGI (gas) or NICEIC (electrics). Only
persons who have the required qualifications and who prove
their ability in practical assessments are approved by
these bodies. These persons are then termed competent
people. They are legally required to test and certify
the installation of gas and electrical appliances. The
last person to carry out any work is responsible for checking
that the WHOLE system is safe and compliant.
Shawfit can fit and connect gas ovens and hobs as long
as all the gas pipework and connections are in the correct
position and are of certifiable quality. Electric
ovens and hobs must have all the electrics provided in
certifiable quality.
Shawfit can come and assess your gas/electrics prior
to installation.
We will also issue a certificate to you and notify the
Local Authority in compliance with Part P of the Building
Regulations following gas/electrical installations.
